TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF RESIDENCE
Holme Manor
provides spacious accommodation in a relaxed family atmosphere. The furnished
bedrooms are large enough to allow some personal items to be brought in by
residents, subject to the manager's discretion.
Our
care philosophy revolves around the following values: Independence, Rights,
Privacy, Choice, Dignity, and Fulfilment.
Whilst we are not a nursing home, we do give limited nursing care for the general health and comfort of our residents under the advice and instructions of the GP. There are no restrictions relating to sex, religion, etc., but prospective residents are assessed to ensure mutual compatibility. It is not our practice to ask residents who become frail and dependent to leave, unless prolonged medical and nursing care is necessary. In the event of unreasonable behaviour affecting the other residents, or non payment of fees, a resident may be asked to leave.
Our
fees are £433.00 per week at present, payable by the resident or their personal
representative acting on their behalf, unless a separate written contract has
been exchanged with Social Services, in which case the terms of that contract
apply.
There
may be discounts applied from time to time to the standard or other rate charged
for care to reflect, for example, bulk purchasing of our services.
Residents
provide their own clothing, which, together with their personal possessions, are
insured by us up to a limit of £500 per resident, after which further insurance
becomes the responsibility of each resident. We can not take responsibility for
valuables, unless they have been lodged with us for safe keeping.
Our
fees are monthly in advance and are subject to annual revision. This is quite
inclusive and covers care, accommodation, food, and laundry. Provision of extra
facilities, e.g. hairdressing, personal newspapers, etc. can be arranged at
extra cost. These charges are liable to increase at short notice, as they are
set by third party suppliers outside our control. One month's notice of any
change of our fees is to be given, and one month's notice would be required from
any resident wishing to vacate; however, the first month of a resident’s stay
with us is regarded as a trial period. Temporary absence due to holidays,
hospital admission, etc. is charged at the normal rate quoted above in
accordance with DSS rules.
Pets
are allowed, subject to the manager's discretion. Smoking is only permitted in
designated areas. The home is registered as a residential home by The Commission
for Social Care Inspection who is responsible for ensuring that standards are
maintained. Any difficulties or problems should be referred to the proprietor
who will do his utmost to resolve them. In the unlikely event of agreement not
being reached, residents can contact The Commission for Social Care Inspection,
North Lancashire Area Office, 2nd Floor, Unit 1, Tustin Court, Port
Way, Preston, PR2 2YQ. Tel: 01772
